If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind Christmas present for your loved ones, THIS IS IT!
What is it?
It is a personal letter with an original Christmas short story with an illustration, written and drawn by me. The letter will be sent in a decorated envelop sealed with wax. The stamps will be my original design as well.
How does it work?
Every year around September, I make a call for reservations. Because the letter is totally customized to the addressee and it requires a lot of handwork, I can only take up to 20 reservations per season.
Once your reservation is secured, you and I can start discussing what topics to mention in the letter. For example, if you are mom and wants to order this letter for your children, then I ask you to tell me a little about your children such as their hobbies, favorite food, trips they made during the year and so on. Please don’t feel obliged to tell more than you feel comfortable. It is not my intention to intrude on your privacy! Based on the information that was provided, I write a personal letter to them.
The letter will be posted from the Netherlands at the beginning of December (standard mail, no track and trace unless required). It should arrive well in time for Christmas.
Once the letter is received, it is all up to the receiver to open it right away or keep it under the Christmas tree until the Big Day.
What is the contents of the letter?
The letter has three parts: opening, story and closing. In the opening, I tell a little about myself and write a personal message to the person who receives the letter. For example, if the reader loves cakes, then I talk about cakes. The middle part will be an original Christmas story, mostly in a style of “I tell you a story that I heard from Santa Clause the other day.” It’s a bedtime-story type thing. The closing will mainly be holiday greetings, just like any other holiday-time correspondences!
How much does it cost?
For 2021, I ask 35euro per letter to be paid in advance. To keep the Christmas spirit of giving and sharing alive, I donate a part of the profit to charity organizations helping children in need.
So far, I donated to KidsRights (2018), UNICEF (2019) and Save the Children (2020).
What if things didn’t go as we planned?
I understand very well that Christmas presents are special, especially for kids. So, I promise I do my utmost best to get it right to keep up the Christmas magic. However, in case of postal problems (delayed, lost, etc.), I can’t do much about that. If trouble occurs, we can always discuss what we can do to make it better. There’s nothing mass-production about this whole process and every letter is personally handled with care and love. We can always try to find the best solution together.
Can you remind me?
Of course! I’m happy to send you a message when I start taking orders for the letter. Please use the contact form below. Please write “remind me” in the Subject field.
